Lodi's Jordan Shea has been selected as the top senior Defensive player as part of the WSN Senior Boys Basketball Awards.

The UMass-Lowell recruit is a bit of a throw-back player in that he does a bit of everything in a rather quiet fashion while almost always leading the Blue Devils to a victory. Shea’s defensive ability is enhanced by his 6-4 size, his quickness and length, but most of all by his incredibly high basketball I.Q.

Shea is a multi-year starter for head coach Mitch Hauser, and has helped the Blue Devils back to state for the third straight year. Through 22 games, he recorded 28 steals and 14 blocks, while usually guarding the opponent's top offensive weapon.

As the primary defender against Marshall's Cam Ward in two games this year, he held Ward to a total of just 28 points. Ward averaged 26.7 for the year.

Finalists for the award were Shea, Keith Franklin of Wisconsin Lutheran, Alex Hayden of La Crosse Central, Chris Howell of Milwaukee King, and Isaiah Lesure of Mount Horeb.

Past winners of the award include Aquinas' Bronson Koenig (2013) and Germantown's Zak Showalter (2012).

WSN Senior Basketball Awards are selected by WisSports.net staff.
