Athlete of the Week Nominees, March 17-23

Below are the Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of March 17 through 23. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Eliza Campbell, Notre Dame girls basketball, tallied 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 assists to help the Tritons beat DeForest 52-42 to win the Division 2 state championship for the second consecutive season. In state semifinals, the UW-Oshkosh recruit finished with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 assists in their 50-47 win over Pius XI. 

Stephanie Kostowicz, Oak Creek girls basketball, finished with 19 points and 7 rebounds to help the Knights defeat Superior 73-52 and claim the Division 1 state title at the Resch Center. She shot 8-for-9 from the field in the contest. In their state semifinal win over Kimberly, the Milwaukee recruit scored 8 points, including a layup to tie the game and force overtime before winning 46-40. 

Andrea Meinert, Kettle Moraine Lutheran girls basketball, finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals to lead the Chargers past Neillsville in the Division 3 state championship game. In their 64-41 win over Oconto Falls in a state semifinal, Meinert tallied 19 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. 

Mollie Wedige, Cuba City girls basketball, totaled 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 blocks to help the Cubans capture the Division 4 title, defeating Algoma 49-28. In a state semifinal, Wedige finished with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks in their 52-39 win over Regis. 

Hannah Whitish, Barneveld girls basketball, finished with 11 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals to help the Golden Eagles edge Assumption 38-34 to claim the Division 5 state title. Whitish scored 19 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists in their state semifinal win over Owen-Withee, 71-53.
