Athlete of the Week: Makayla Neinas, Wrightstown
Makayla Neinas of Wrightstown softball has been selected as the Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week for the week of May 26 through June 1 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
There were 2,222 votes this week, Neinas finished with 1,105 while Jessica Koscharek of Highland softball received 994 votes to finish second in the voting.
Neinas hit a walk-off solo home run in the 11th inning and earned the victory in the circle in their 5-4 win over Luxemburg-Casco on Tuesday night.
On Thursday she threw a one-hitter and collected two hits in the Tigers 2-0 win over West De Pere to claim a Regional Championship.
