Splash of the Week: Milton girls golf
Milton girls golf started the 2014 season strong by capturing the Madison Edgewood/WPGA Inviational title at Yahara Hills in Madison. The Red Hawks are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week.
After finishing just short of the state tournament last season, Milton proved on Friday that they are one of the top teams in Division 1 by winning the Madison Edgewood/WPGA Inviational.
The Red Hawks finished one stroke ahead No. 3 Madison Edgewood and five strokes better than preseason No. 1 Verona.
The invite featured nine of top 10 top teams in the state. The Red Hawks were picked No. 7 in Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin preseason poll.
CheyAnn Knudsen led Milton with a perseonal-best 4-over 76. Mia Seeman finished in eighth place with a 79, while Maddie McCue recorded an 81.
