The Kohler/Sheb. Lutheran/Christian co-op has been selected as the Week 2 WisSports.net Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team rebounded from some tough seasons to start 2014 with a 2-0 record. The co-op was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 2. A total of 8403 votes were cast in very spirited competition, as Kohler/Lutheran/Christian's 3738 votes edged Delavan-Darien's 3678 by one of the slimmest margins we've seen.

The co-op program seemed to be on shaky ground the last few seasons, with a winless 2011 campaign followed by the cancellation of the varsity schedule in 2012. The team won just one game last season. It's been a very different story so far in 2014, as head coach Matt Zavada's bunch are 2-0, with a 42-0 win over Living Word Lutheran in Week 1 followed by a 35-0 blanking of North Fond du Lac over the weekend. They held the Orioles to just over 100 yards of total offense in the game, while going for more than 300 themselves.

"Two weeks in to the season and we have the most varsity wins since 2010," Zavada said. "Last season we gave up a lot of points, and so far have not given up one this season."

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 3 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
