WisSports.net Week 3 Team of the Week Nominees:

Arcadia -- Billed as the Game of the Week on WisSports.net, the Raiders' non-conference matchup with Lancaster matched a pair of top five teams in the latest Division 5 Coaches Poll. Arcadia jumped out early, leading 14-0 before Lancaster even had an offensive possession. The Raiders took a 21-6 lead into halftime, and extended it to 31-12 early in the 4th quarter. They held off a furious Flying Arrows comeback attempt, intercepting a pass to seal the deal after Lancaster had clawed to within 31-24. Quarterback Rob Hoesley had a perfect 158.3 passer rating, completing 11 of 12 passes for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns, adding a score on the ground as well. Zach Pronschinske hauled in both touchdown passes, while Lee Pronschinske added 90 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Cassville -- Prior to Friday's 22-12 victory over Potosi, you had to go back to 2002 to find the last time the Comets beat the Chieftains. Since 2008, they had given up at least 34 points in every matchup, while never scoring more than 14. That included a 46-8 loss last season. Potosi had six more first downs and 92 more yards of offense, but Cassville made the plays when they needed to. Caleb Dahse finished with 96 rushing yards and a score, while Dallas Esser added a pair of touchdowns on the ground as well.

Kenosha Indian Trail -- Indian Trail was coming off a 35-0 Week 2 loss to Stevenson (IL) in a game that was called at halftime due to weather, but re-grouped in a big way to take down Southeast Conference foe Oak Creek 35-20 in Week 3. It is the third time in the last 12 months they've had the Knights' number, including a playoff win last season. After Oak Creek scored the game's first 14 points, Indian Trail answered to tie it at halftime, then pulled away in the second half with 21 unanswered points. The rushing duo of quarterback Lane Ochs and running back Cameron Bishop pounded away all day, accounting for 58 carries, 379 yards, and 5 touchdowns.

Reedsburg -- Until a 17-10 overtime victory on Homecoming last season, Reedsburg had never beaten DeForest. Now, they've won two years in a row, including a 49-27 victory over the Norskies in Week 3, their first win at DeForest. What was a tight, defensive-oriented 7-7 game at halftime turned into a shootout in the second half, as Reedsburg pulled away behind an explosive ground game. They racked up 440 rushing yards against the usually stout DeForest defense, with only one pass attempt (which fell incomplete). Fullback Chris Jepson had 13 carries for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns, Lucas Muchow finished with 9 carries for 149 yards and 2 scores, and Dylan Peterson added 125 yards and 2 touchdowns on 8 carries. The extremely difficult early season schedule continues for the Beavers in Week 4 as they travel to defending Division 3 champion Monona Grove.

South Milwaukee -- We figured the Rockets' showdown with Brown Deer to open the Woodland-East schedule would be a good game, but what we got was a great game, with some incredible individual performances on each side and thrilling contest that came right down to the wire. South Milwaukee pulled within 28-21 just before halftime, then scored twice in the third quarter to take a brief lead. Brown Deer rallied to tie it early in the fourth, but the Rockets got a 7-yard Ian Pribyl touchdown run to go up 41-35. They held on the rest of the way, including stopping a Hail Mary pass at the end, to win by that one score margin. Pribyl finished with 177 yards and 3 touchdowns on 29 carries, with quarterback Justin Oliden adding 257 passing yards and 3 scores in addition to 146 rushing yards. Mitchell Dess hauled in 8 passes for 129 yards and 2 scores.
