As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Week 4 Game of the Week:  Waunakee (3-0, 1-0; D2 #5) at Mount Horeb/Barneveld (3-0, 0-0; D3 #5) -- Friday, 7 pm
The Badger-North Conference has been one of the strongest D2/3 leagues in the state for several years, and this is shaping up to be another outstanding race in 2014. We'll get a bit of clarity after this weekend, with undefeated top five teams Waunakee and Mount Horeb/Barneveld squaring off. Last year, when Waunakee uncharacteristically struggled, MHB got a 28-21 win. The visiting Warriors from Waunakee appear to be back on track this season, but their opening 49-21 win over Madison Edgewood maybe isn't quite as big of a victory as we'd thought with Edgewood sitting at 0-3. Mount Horeb/Barneveld already has wins over defending D3 champ Monona Grove and Badger-South runner-up Fort Atkinson this season, and will post the stiffest challenge of the year so far for Waunakee. Waunakee is led by the state's leading rusher, senior Troy Laufenberg, while Mount Horeb/Barneveld's attack is orchestrated by junior quarterback Max Meylor, who has completed 75% of his passes for 697 yards and 6 touchdowns through three weeks.
