Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week Nominees, September 15-21

Below are the Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of September 15 through 21. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Donald Foley, Marquette boys volleyball, finished with 51 assists in their win over top-ranked Brookfield East by scores of 21-25, 25-16, 25-19, 21-25, 15-12. 

Garrett Groshek, Amherst football, carried the ball 20 times for 130 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Falcons 36-0 victory over Shiocton on Friday.

John Higgins, Williams Bay football, scored 4 touchdowns in the Bulldogs first ever win against Randolph, 34-20. He went 8-for-17 passing with 111 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran the ball 21 times for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns. Higgins also had 19 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss. 

Makenzie Morgen, Appleton East girls volleyball, she compiled 21 kills and 11 digs in their 3-1 win against Kimberly by scores of 18-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-20. She also helped the Patriots to a runner-up finish at the Nicolet Invite on Saturday, finishing with 11 kills and 7 digs in the championship match. 

Brad Strobel, Hartford boys soccer, recorded a hat trick (all in second half) to lead the Orioles to a 3-1 win over Cedarburg.
