WisSports.net Level 3 Team of the Week Nominees:

Darlington - Since an opening game loss to Platteville, Darlington has looked dominant in winning 10 straight games, including a 41-12 victory over previously undefeated Lake Country Lutheran in Level 3. The Redbirds amassed 322 yards on the ground, as Hunter Johnson and Myles Leahy each went over the century mark and combined for all 6 touchdowns in the game. Darlington advances to Level 4 where they will faced another unbeaten team, Edgar.

Homestead - Win probability is a new advanced stat becoming common in professional sports among sabermatricians and others. It measures a team's chance of winning at any given moment of a game based on score, time, situation, etc. The win probability for Homestead had to be awfully low Friday night, as they trailed Cedarburg by 7 with about 2 minutes left and Cedarburg in possession of the ball around midfield. The Highlanders got three stops in a row however and used 3 timeouts to force a punt. The punt snap was shaky and the punter couldn't handle it, giving Homestead the ball deep in Cedarburg territory with around a minute to go. Nick Allen found Patrick Minkin for an 18 yard score and head coach Dave Keel decided to go for 2, which was converted on a run by Nick Ziebell for a dramatic and improbable 15-14 Homestead victory.

Lancaster - The last time Lancaster played Arcadia, the Flying Arrows found themselves down 14-0 before even taking an offensive snap en route to a 31-24 loss in Week 3. Lancaster was hoping for a chance at redemption, and got it in Level 3. Down 21-16 midway through the second quarter, Lancaster scored the game's next 24 points and held on for a 43-29 victory. Quarterback Nate Tranel and fullback Tyler Glass combined for 316 yards of rushing with 5 touchdowns. The Flying Arrows, who have scored 167 points this postseason, advance to Level 4 to take on Racine St. Catherine's, who has not allowed a point in three playoff games.

Little Chute - It's hard to win games when you turn the ball over and drop passes. For three quarters Saturday, it seemed Little Chute was doomed to learn that lesson the hard way. Four first half turnovers helped Spencer/Columbus Catholic take a 14-0 halftime lead, with both scores coming in the final 45 seconds of the half. Little Chute got things turned around however, scoring on a 6 yard Sam Merryfield to Alex Mueller touchdown with just over 6 minutes remaining in the game. The Mustangs would add another score less than 4 minutes later to knot the game at 14, and it stayed that way as the teams headed to overtime. The Mustangs defense held on the first possession, and the offense went in quickly, giving the team a 20-14 comeback victory.

Pepin/Alma - There were only two games on the schedule in Level 3 between unbeaten teams, and Pepin/Alma at Bangor in D7 was one of them. The Eagles were the 2-seed, meaning they had to go on the road to Bangor. Pepin/Alma made big plays on offense and held on defense when they needed to to score a 42-13 victory and advance to Level 4. Lance Johnson and Trevor Heit combined for 230 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns, while the defense gave up some yards to the strong Bangor rushing attack, but forced several empty possessions after stiffening in their own territory.
