Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list previously was trimmed to 15 semi-finalists, and now five finalists for the award have been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. Finalists are eligible for just one of the five awards. There will be a total of 25 finalists for the five awards, five different players for each award.

Senior Boys Basketball Awards -- Wing Finalists

Matt Anderson, Fall Creek -- Anderson earned co-Player of the Year honors in the Western Division of the Cloverbelt Conference along with Regis senior Billy Wampler. An athletic, skilled and extremely versatile 6-foot-6 forward, Anderson can play away from the basket or use his size and jumping ability to dominate in the paint. The NCAA Division II recruit for Minnesota State -- Moorhead is averaging 20.6 points and 11.0 rebounds per game for a Fall Creek squad that takes a 21-3 record into sectional action.

Henry Ellenson, Rice Lake -- It's difficult to put Ellenson into just one category as he is versatile enough to easily be listed among the finalists for both Defense and Post as well. But we've decided to put him in the Wing position due to his ability to handle the ball like a point guard and his perimeter-shooting skill. The 6-foot-10 McDonald's All-American and Marquette University recruit is having another stellar season, averaging 27.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. He has scored 30 or more points seven times, including a career-high 48 in a loss to Minnesota powerhouse Minnetonka. Ellenson has scored more than 2,000 points in his four-year prep career.

Jaylen Key, Homestead -- Like the others on the Wing Finalists list, Key is a versatile player who is effective both from the perimeter and in the lane. The 6-foot-7 left hander has a knack for scoring through contact and is averaging 19.8 ppg for a Homestead team that is 15-9 heading into sectional play. Key was highly productive in a pair of losses to three-time defending WIAA Division 1 state champion Germantown, scoring 25 points in a seven-point loss and 26 in a four-point loss.

Kyle Monroe, Ashwaubenon -- One of the more productive and consistent players in the state, Monroe was named Player of the Year in the Fox River Classic Conference for the second year in a row after averaging 22.1 points per game for coach John Miron and the Jaguars, who finished the season with a 17-6 record. The NCAA Division II recruit for Michigan Tech scored more than 1,600 points in his high school career, including a career-best 43 in a victory over Manitowoc Lincoln this season.

Mitch Pfeifer, Kettle Moraine -- An athletic wing player who can take the ball to the basket and finish above the rim or make mid-range jump shots, Pfeifer had a breakout senior season for the Lasers and was recently chosen as the Player of the Year in the Classic Eight Conference. The 6-foot-3 Pfeifer averaged 18.0 ppg and went for a career-high 34 points in a victory over Catholic Memorial.
