Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of March 9-15. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: March 9-15

Gabby Green, Pius XI girls basketball, led the Lady Popes to the Division 2 State Championship by finishing with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals in their 54-36 win over Cedarburg in the title game. In their 55-30 victory against Waunakee in a state semi-final, Green totaled 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. 

Matthew Nikolay, Auburndale boys basketball, scored a game-high 15 points to the the Apaches to a 34-32 win over Brillion and trip to the Division 4 State Tournament. In a 38-35 win over Marathon in a sectional semi-final, Nikolay finished with 17 points. 

Arike Ogunbowale, DSHA girls basketball, had an outstanding weekend of basketball. On Friday night she scored a state tournament record of 55 points in their 86-76 overtime win against Middleton, during the day on Saturday she was named Miss Basketball, and Saturday night she finished with 27 points to lead the Dashers to the Division 1 State Championship, defeating D.C. Everest 64-29.  
 
Max Stockwell, Hillsboro boys basketball, finished with 21 points to lead the Tigers past D5 No. 4 Shullsburg 48-35 and earn their first-ever trip to the state tournament. In their 61-47 win over Gilmanton in a sectional semi-final, Stockwell finished with 21 points. 
 
Hannah Whitish, Barneveld girls basketball, led the Golden Eagles to their second-straight Division 5 Title. She finished with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists in their 59-43 win against Assumption in the championship game. In their 66-34 win over Fall River in state semi-final, Whitish totaled 25 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists.
