Senior Softball Awards: Infielder/Catcher Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN Senior Softball Awards.

The pre-season watch list has been trimmed down to five finalists. Winners are announced the week of the softball state tournament.

WSN Senior Softball Awards -- Infielder/Catcher Finalists:

Kyncaide Diedrich, Athens: Finished the year with a .625 batting average with 29 RBI, 29 stolen bases, and 51 runs scored. She was also the Fighting Bluejays top pitcher, posting a 15-4 record with 181 strikeouts. She  was named the WFSCA Division 4 Player of the Year as a junior. 

Megan Kleist, Kimberly: Kleist, an Oregon recruit, is hitting .661 with 6 home runs, 26 RBI, and 28 runs scored while playing second base. Last season she led the Papermakers to the Division 1 State Tile and earned First Team All-State by the WFSCA as a pitcher. 

Stephanie Lombardo, New Berlin Eisenhower: Lombardo has hit 8 home runs, drove in 45 runs, and scored 20 times for the Lions so far this season. As a junior she was named Woodland-West Player of the Year and received First Team WFSCA All-State. 

Brooke Phillips, Iola-Scandinavia: Phillips finished the year with a .536 batting average to go along with 12 home runs, 55 RBI, and 48 runs scored for the Thunderbirds. As a junior she earned Honorable Mention All-State by the WFSCA. 

Lindsey Stranis, Ashwaubenon: Stranis is hitting .530 with 22 RBI, 27 runs, and 18 stolen bases for the Jaguars this season, while also being named Co-FRCC Player of the Year. The shortstop was thrown out just once in the regular season on stolen base attempts and committed just 2 errors.
