Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN Senior Softball Awards.
The pre-season watch list has been trimmed down to five finalists. Winners are announced the week of the softball state tournament.
WSN Senior Softball Awards -- Pitcher Finalists:
Jordan Blochwitz, Poynette: Blochwitz is 19-1 with a 0.74 ERA with 123 strikeouts in 123 2/3 innings pitched for the Pumas. At the plate, Jordan carries a .364 batting average. During her junior campaign, she received Honorable Mention WFSCA All-State.
Rochelle Koshalek, Mosinee: Koshalek finished the year with a 22-4 record with a 1.43 ERA and 188 strikeouts in 146 1/3 innings pitched for the Indians. Rochelle was named Great Northern Player of the Year for the third consecutive season and also was big for the Indians at the plate with a .359 batting average with 2 home runs and 30 RBI. As a junior, she led the Indians to the Division 2 State Title and earned Second Team WFSCA All-State.
McKaela Ryan, Oakfield: Ryan has a 18-3 record with a 1.57 ERA and 152 strikeouts in 125 innings pitched this season for the Oaks. At the plate, she is hitting .559 with 41 RBI and 47 runs scored. As a junior, Ryan led the Oaks' to the Division 4 State Championship and earned Honorable Mention WFSCA All-State.
Sara Simonar, Luxemburg-Casco: Simonar has a 20-2 record while posting a 1.00 ERA with 158 strikeouts in 147 innings pitched. At the plate, she is hitting .289 with 3 home runs and 16 runs scored. Sara was named a unanimous First Team All-Bay Selection and Player of the Year in the Conference for her efforts this season.
Bailey Smaney, Bay Port: Smaney was named Co-Player of the Year in the FRCC this season after posting a 11-1 record with a 0.63 ERA and 76 strikeouts in 78 innings pitched in FRCC play. At the dish, Smaney hit .318 with 12 RBI in FRCC play.
