Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the 2015 WSN Senior Baseball Awards.
The pre-season watch list has been trimmed down to five finalists. Winners are announced the week of the spring baseball state tournament.
WSN Senior Baseball Awards -- Pitcher Finalists:
Jack Bredeson, Arrowhead – Bredeson, a Michigan commit, was part of a staff loaded with talent and Division 1 prospects as the Warhawks transitioned quite successfully to the spring baseball season. Bredeson went 9-0 on the season with a 0.13 ERA, striking out 65 in 55 2/3 innings, adding one save as well.
Jacob Buboltz, West De Pere – Buboltz teamed with Brandon Meissner, who could have easily been on this list as well, to help the Phantoms to a share of the Bay Conference title. Heading into the postseason, Buboltz featured a sparkling 7-1 record with a 1.12 ERA during conference action, with 39 strikeouts in 50 innings.
Connor Hock, Bay Port – Hock was recently named the co-FRCC Player of the Year after a stellar senior season. Starting 11 games this year, he went 10-0 with a 0.92 ERA, striking out 93 in 60 2/3 innings heading into sectionals.
Riley Pelischek, Denmark – Part of a dominant Denmark staff that includes three D1 signees and a D2 signee, Pelischek was outstanding. In 64 2/3 innings, he allowed just 33 hits while striking out 121. He is 9-0 with 1 save this year, sporting a 0.76 ERA.
Brice Swick, Kimberly – Swick burst onto the scene this year to grab unanimous All-Conference recognition in the FVA. He went 6-1 on the mound with a 0.28 ERA, striking out 37 in 50 innings of work. He's an elite hitter as well, batting .361 with 4 homers and several game-winning hits along the way.
