Air National Guard Week 4 Player of the Week Nominees:

Ezekiel Banks, Greenfield - South Milwaukee has won at least a share of three straight Woodland-East Conference titles, but there could be a changing of the guard in 2015. Greenfield is off to a 4-0 start after knocking off the Rockets 20-7 Friday night. Junior Ezekiel Banks put up good numbers, buoyed by a pair of long touchdown runs. He broke loose for a 95-yard scoring scamper in the second quarter, then put the game away with an 80-yard touchdown in the fourth. He finished the contest with 17 carries for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Howie Leuschen, Hayward - The Hayward Hurricanes found themselves trailing Northwestern 38-26 in the 3rd quarter of Friday night's Heart O'North Conference game. As they've done all year, the Hurricanes turned to standout running back Howie Leuschen to help bring them back. Leuschen ran for a 75-yard touchdown score to pull within striking distance later in the third, then plunged into the end zone from a yard out in the 4th quarter to help secure a 40-38 win. He carried the ball 39 times for 341 yards, scoring 3 touchdowns. Leuschen is now on top of the state's rushing list with 943 yards on the season.

Austin Powell, Sauk Prairie - There hasn't been a lot for Eagles fans to cheer about the last few years, as the team has not made the postseason since 2007. It will be tough to do in 2015, but things are heading in the right direction after a 40-28 victory over Portage in Week 4. Powell was a workhorse, carrying the ball 28 times for 338 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Keonte Schad, Madison East - After stepping in as the team's starting quarterback last week following an injury to Ruben Arndt, junior Keonte Schad has acquitted himself well, including a standout performance in a thrilling come from behind win over Janesville Craig. He connected with Dale Tygum on an 8-yard touchdown pass as time expired in the game, setting up the game-winning two-point conversion run by Amadou Daff with no time on the clock. Schad finished the day 21 of 35 for 286 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air, adding a pair of scores on the ground as well.

Matt Schmitt, Brodhead/Juda - The Cardinals and Big Foot have a lengthy rivalry that usually decides the Rock Valley-South title, and has featured a number of outstanding games over the years. Friday night was no different, as Brodhead/Juda held on for a 29-27 victory. Schmitt connected on 4 touchdown passes in the game, finishing 14 of 21 for 188 yards. That included a 6-yard scoring pass to Ned Slocum in overtime, as he also completed the two-point conversion pass for the decisive points.
