Week 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll

Division 1

Mukwonago is once again the top-ranked team in the WisSports.net Coaches Poll. They traveled to Florida over the holiday break and defeated Wellington, FL and Nelson County, KY at the Disney World Wide of Sports Complex. Second-ranked Bay Port edged No. 6 Marshfield a week before Christmas. Middleton drops to No. 3 after losing a games to Germantown and Milwaukee King at the Christine Rathke Memorial Tournament. Oak Creek joins the rankings this week and check in at No. 7. DSHA, like Middleton, dropped a pair of games at the Rathke Memorial Tournament. The Dashers fall four spots to No. 8 this week. Neenah defeated Brookfield East 82-70 and are No. 9 this week while Brookfield East drops to No. 10. 

Division 2

The top five teams remain the same as the Week 4 WisSports.net Coaches Poll. Top-ranked Pius XI is riding a 38-game winning streak with their most recent win coming against Brookfield Central, 58-48, in the championship game of the Hank Raymonds Holiday Classic. Second-ranked Waukesha West travels to Division 1 No. 1 Mukwonago on Friday. No. 6 Monona Grove hosts Portage tonight and Oregon on Friday. Seventh-ranked Stoughton hosts D3 No. 2 Madison Edgewood tonight. No. 8 New Berlin Eisenhower hosts New Berlin West tonight, both teams are 4-1 in the Woodland West. Undefeated Grafton (10-0) joins the rankings this week at No. 9 and Pewaukee checks in at No. 10. 

Division 3

Top-ranked Whitewater travels to No. 8 Brodhead on Thursday. No. 2 Madison Edgewood plays at No. 7 Stoughton tonight. Third-ranked and undefeated Hayward continues to dominate their opponents, their most recent win was a 52-15 win over Stanley-Boyd. Freedom moves up two spots to No. 6 this week. Brodhead suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of undefeated Cuba City and they fall to two spots to No. 8. Roncalli joins the rankings this week after defeating Denmark, 49-30. 

Division 4

Marathon takes over the No. 1 ranking in the Division 4 WisSports.net Coaches Poll. The Red Raiders defeated No. 10 Regis 92-75 in the championship of the Marathon Holiday Tournament. They host 6-1 Auburndale tonight. No. 2 Cuba City extended the state's longest active winning streak to 59 games last night, defeating Lancaster. Coach Jeff Pustina also earned his 600th career win last night, he's lost just 115 games. Algoma drops two spots to No. 3 after losing to D2 No. 3 Pulaski 45-37. The Wolves travel to No. 8 Kewaunee tonight. Kenosha St. Joseph finished as the runner-up at the Christine Rathke Memorial Tournament, falling to Franklin in the title game. The Lancers cruised to a win over No. 5 Lourdes Academy and also defeated D1 No. 8 DSHA at the tournament. No. 6 Mineral Point hosts D5 No. 6 Riverdale on Thursday. 

Division 5

Top-ranked and undefeated Barneveld hosts No. 5 Loyal on Saturday. Fall River remains at No. 3 in the coaches poll despite losses to larger schools Stoughton and Janesville Craig over the holiday break. Shullsburg moves up two spots to No. 7 this week. Flambeau suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Bloomer and drop two spots to No. 8. McDonell Central joins the rankings this week at No. 10. The Macks travel to 9-1 Fall Creek on Thursday.
