Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Point Guard Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. Finalists are eligible for just one of the five awards. There will be a total of 25 finalists for the five awards, five different players for each award.

Caitlyn Hibner, Portage -- Hibner, a UW-Green Bay recruit, averaged 21.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.1 blocks per game for the Warriors. 

Alona Johnson, Milwaukee Riverside -- Johnson, a Wisconsin recruit, averaged 19.7 points, 2.5 assists and 3.9 steals per game for the Tigers. 

Meghan Pingel, Lakeside Lutheran -- Pingel, a UW-Green Bay recruit, averaged a state-best 10.1 assists per game to go along with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 1.8 blocks per game for the Warriors. 

Hannah Whitish, Barneveld -- Whitish, a Nebraska recruit, averages 22.1 points per game and has over 2,000 career points for the Golden Eagles. Barneveld is undefeated and riding a 35-game winning streak, the state's longest active streak. The Golden Eagles face Potosi in a Division 5 sectional semi-final tonight. 

Sammie Woodward, The Prairie School -- Woodward, a New Mexico recruit, averaged 16.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.4 steals per game. She also connected on 57 three-pointers while shooting 37 percent from distance.
