Week 7 Team of the Week Nominees:

Bay Port -- It was the Game of the Week on WisSports.net and it did not disappoint. Despite 62% of the fan vote going to Notre Dame, it was Bay Port that came out on top of an instant classic to score a 20-17 win and take over sole possession of first place in the FRCC. Down 10-6 entering the fourth quarter, Bay Port scored early in the period on a Ben Styczynski 27-yard run, but the Pirates found themselves down a short time later as Notre Dame answered with a touchdown of its own. Quinn Pierner engineered what proved to be the game-winning scoring drive, hooking up with Riguel Lollis for a 22-yard touchdown with just 1:03 left in the game.

Columbus -- A showdown between the second-ranked Cardinals and third-ranked Lodi Blue Devils figured to be the Game of the Year in Division 4, and it lived up to the billing. In a heavy drizzle, Lodi went up 10-0 late in the first half before Columbus answered on an 87-yard kickoff return score by Noah Coughlin. Lodi would add another touchdown a few seconds later however to take a 17-7 advantage into halftime. The fourth quarter belonged to Columbus however, as the Cardinals scored a pair of touchdowns to rally for a 21-17 victory and remain unbeaten. Jake Smith had 115 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Hayward -- After a loss to Chetek-Weyerhaeuser in Week 6, Hayward had a chance to make things really interesting in the Heart O'North race in Week 7. The Hurricanes did just that, shutting out league-leading Northwestern 26-0 to force a three-way tie atop the conference standings with just two weeks to go. The defense held Northwestern to just 129 yards of offense, while Fred Perfecto carried the ball 35 times for 145 yards and one touchdown in the win.

Kimberly -- It has been the talk of the high school football season, and on Friday night it finally happened, as Kimberly broke the state record for consecutive wins, as a 45-17 triumph over Appleton West marked their 49th straight victory. The last Papermakers defeat was back on November 2nd, 2012 against Arrowhead in the Division 1 playoffs. Against West, D.J. Stewart rushed for 177 yards and 5 touchdowns while Danny Vanden Boom added 118 yards and a score through the air.

Milwaukee Lutheran -- The Red Knights have not been to the postseason since the 2011 season, but they put themselves in position to have a shot this year, shocking league-leading Whitefish Bay 35-31 to hand the Blue Dukes their first conference loss of the year. It was a must-win game for Milwaukee Lutheran, who likely still needs to win its final two contests to get into the postseason. The Red Knights trailed 31-21 entering the fourth quarter, but pulled within 31-28 early in the period on a one-yard plunge from Anthony Jackson. With 1:29 left in the game, they added the game-winning points on a Josiah Hedrington to Isaiah Owens pass from five yards out.
