Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of October 31 through November 6. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: October 31-November 6

Thomas Bruneau, Marquette boys soccer: Bruneau helped the Hilltoppers capture their third straight state title on Saturday at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee, defeating Green Bay Preble 1-0 in the Division 1 championship match. Thomas scored the only goal of the match on a headed off of a corner kick in the 50th minute. Bruneau also scored a goal in their victory over Brookfield Central, 3-0, in a state semi-final. 

Lexi Alden, Catholic Memorial girls volleyball: Alden helped the Crusaders capture their third consecutive Division 2 state championship at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Lexi tallied 15 kills in their win over Notre Dame (25-23, 25-19, 25-14) in the championship match. The Crusaders also swept Merrill in a state-semi-final, Alden finished with 10 kills and 5 digs in the victory. 

Andrew Villarreal, Racine St. Catherine's boys soccer: Villarreal recorded a hat trick in the Angels victory against Winnebago Lutheran (4-2 OT) in the D4 state title match. Two of his goals were unassisted, including finding the net in the second overtime to give them a 4-2 lead. In their 4-1 victory over Phillips in a state semi-final, Villarreal scored 2 goals and added an assist. 

Mariah Whalen, Newman Catholic girls volleyball: Whalen led the Cardinals to their fourth straight Division 4 State Championship. Mariah finished with 26 kills in their sweep of Clayton in the title match, breaking the D4 hitting percentage in three sets by hitting .632. In their three-set victory over Seneca in a D4 state semi-final, Whalen compiled 23 kills, 7 aces and 7 digs. Newman Catholic is the first team in D4 history to win four consecutive state championships. 

Samantha Yancy, Howards Grove girls volleyball: Yancy led the Tigers to their first state title in volleyball since 1976. Samantha finished with 22 kills and 10 digs in their sweep of Lourdes Academy in the D3 state title match. Howards Grove swept Aquinas in a state semi-final with Yancy compiling 23 kills, 6 digs and 2 blocks for the Tigers.
