Pecatonica tasted defeat just two times all of 2016, but unfortunately one of those losses came in a sectional semi-final game against Catholic Central.
The Vikings and head coach Jim Strommen are looking for a bit of redemption this year, and have the talent and experience to get it done. As such, Pecatonica is the top-ranked team in the Baseball Wisconsin Pre-Season Division 4 Rankings.
Rounding out the top five are Rib Lake, Johnson Creek, Riverdale, and Pittsville. Defending champion Ithaca suffered heavy graduation losses but comes in at number 17.
Below are the preseason spring baseball rankings courtesy of the Baseball Wisconsin Yearbook. The 2017 book is the 25th edition, 256 pages in length and in full color. Written and edited by Joe Waite and Chris Lavold, it features a season breakdown for every high school and college program in the state.
