Sidney Cooks, Kenosha St. Joseph girls basketball: Cooks was named the Associated Press Girls Basketball Player of the Year last week, adding to the prestigious Miss Basketball recognition she received from the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association earlier this year. Not only that, she scored four straight points in the final minute of regulation to force overtime in the nationally-televised McDonald's All-American Game, though her West team would fall to the East 80-74. Just the third girls from Wisconsin to play in the game, she finished with 9 points, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist, and 1 rebound.

Trudy Quidzinski, Notre Dame girls soccer: Notre Dame had its hands full on Saturday, traveling to Waukesha to take on Division Waukesha South and Division 2's sixth-ranked squad Waukesha West. In a 4-0 shutout of South, Quidzinski netted a pair of goals, adding another goal later in the day as Notre Dame held off West 3-2.

Mackenzie Scholz, Kimberly girls soccer: The Papermakers posted a dominating 7-1 victory over West De Pere in a non-conference contest on Saturday, and Scholz played a big role in the action. She scored three goals for a hat trick and added an assist to help lift the Papermakers to an easy victory.

Dylan Sumnicht, Shawano baseball: Sumnicht was in midseason form on Saturday, tossing a complete game shutout as the Hawks edged New London 1-0 in a Bay Conference baseball game. He allowed just four hits and a walk, striking out eight.

Austin Wagner, Fond du Lac baseball: In the first of two games on Saturday, both Fondy victories, Wagner no-hit West De Pere as the Cardinals earned an 8-0 victory. He finished with 13 strikeouts in the contest.
