2017-18 Team Previews:

Superior finished with a 7-14 overall record in 2016-17. The Spartans will have to fill the void left with the graduation of three starters. Dave Kontny takes over as the head coach this season, as the boys' coach at Superior he posted a 157-59 record. Coach Kontny told WSN that they will play extremely hard every possession on defense. " We do not have a lot of returning players so creating continuity and depth is definitely a priority." Returning starters for the Spartans are juniors Chloe Kintop (6.8 PPG) and Madison Myer (6.5 PPG). Senior Alexis Jensen also returns as a varsity performer. Additional players who will contribute are senior Sophie Kintop; juniors Lauren Rabion, Madison Stariha, Emily Hunter, and Jessica Kimmes; and sophomore Niya Wilson.

Ashland went 5-16 overall last season. The Oredockers welcome back three of their top five scorers in junior Maddie Wiggins, senior Cassie Perry, and junior Meg DeHate. Senior Harper Bucholz and junior Kaylee McPeak also return as notable contributors from last year's team. Ashland opens the season at Northwestern on November 16.
