UW-Fox Valley captured the championship at the recent Wisconsin Collegiate Conference soccer tournament, defeating UW-Fond du Lac 5- in the championship match. The teams were scoreless at halftime before Fox Valley pulled away for the dominating victory.
The Cyclones received a first round bye in the league tournament, before dispatching UW-Rock 3-1 in the semi-finals. On the other side, Fond du Lac also earned a bye, beating UW-Waukesha 1-0 to advance to the finals.
UW-Fox Valley also won the regular season title, finishing a perfect 6-0.
The Wisconsin Collegiate Conference also announced its postseason awards for the 2017 season.
League champion Fox Valley had three players on the first team list: Charles Engle, Jonathan Quale, and Keegan Lauer. UW-Fond du Lac's Matt Schnieder was named the league's Offensive Player of the Year. Nick Kohnhorst of UW-Marathon took home Defensive Player of the Year recognition.
Coach of the Year honors went to UW-Fond du Lac's Craig Larson, while UW-Marathon took home the Team Sportsmanship Award.
