Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of February 25 through March 3. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Feb. 25 - Mar. 3

Samantha Leisemann, Fall River girls basketball: Samantha recorded back-to-back double-doubles in the sectional games this past week to lead Fall River to a state tournament birth in division 5. In a 35-32 sectional semi-final win over Randolph, Samantha had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks. She followed that up with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks as Fall River beat Hilbert 37-31, leading Fall River back to the state tournament for the third time in five years.

Ellie Clements, Whitefish Bay girls basketball: Ellie was incredible in sectional play as Whitefish Bay secured two wins to head back to Green Bay and the girls state tournament. In a 53-27 sectional semi-final win over Pius XI, she had 20 points and 13 rebounds. Ellie then had 24 points and 11 rebounds in a 63-43 sectional final win over second seeded Pewaukee. Ellie was pivotal to why the Blue Dukes are headed to the state tournament for the first time since 2011.

Marquise Milton, Racine Horlick boys basketball: Marquise was a driving force and huge reason why Racine Horlick won a regional championship this past weekend. First in a 60-51 regional semi-final win over Kenosha Indian Trail, Milton had 17 points. The eight seeded Rebels then faced off with top-seeded Madison East in the regional final game. Madison East who had been ranked #1 in the WSN Coaches Poll couldn't contain Milton throughout. Marquise finished with 35 points as Racine Horlick upset top-ranked Madison East 74-67.

Grant Manke, Bangor boys basketball: Grant was extremely efficient and productive as Bangor took home another regional championship over the weekend. In the opening round 80-30 win over La Farge, Grant had 20 points and 6 rebounds. He followed that up with 21 points and 17 rebounds in a 71-51 win over Wonewoc-Center. Grant saved his best performance for last as he scored 36 points and hauled in 18 rebounds in the 85-56 regional final win over New Lisbon. Grant shot 32 of 46 (70%) from the field in regional play. Also, in the semi-final win over Wonewoc-Center, Grant surpassed the 1,000 point mark in his prep career.

Matthew Marcinske, Birchwood boys basketball: The fifth seeded Birchwood boys basketball team won three regional games by a combined 14 points behind the play of Marchinske. Matthew had 22 points and 8 rebounds in a 65-56 regional quarter-final win over Frederic. In a 63-61 semi-final win over Hurley, the Bobcats needed all 31 points and 9 rebounds from Matthew to advance. Birchwood faced off with top seeded Northwood in the regional final game Saturday. Matthew had a team high 20 points to lead Birchwood to a 67-64 victory and a regional championship.
