In the 71-39 semi-final win over Fall River, Bailey tied a team high with 18 points. She added 5 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in the win. Black Hawk then faced off with fellow unbeaten Clayton for the D5 gold ball. Butler added 19 points, 2 assists, a steal, and a block in the 51-36 win, bringing home the first gold ball in school history for the girls basketball program.

Lexi Donarski, Aquinas girls basketball: Lexi started off the tournament slow as she had 3 fouls in the first half of the semi-final game against Milwaukee Academy of Science. She erupted for 25 points in the second half to finish the game with 28 total as Aquinas advanced with a 77-59 win. Lexi shot 8 of 12 from the field and 10 of 10 from the free throw line. Aquinas then matched up with Melrose-Mindoro for the second consecutive year in the D4 state championship. Lexi added 22 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals as Aquinas won 65-39 to repeat as state champs.

Anna Lutz, Marshall girls basketball: Marshall looked to repeat as D3 champs for coach Alex Koeller and the sophomore Lutz played incredibly in the two games. Anna had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 6 steals, and 2 blocks as Marshall outpaced G-E-T 58-37. She then turned it up a level as Marshall beat previously unbeaten Laconia, 64-56 in the D3 state championship. Anna scored a team high 26 points while adding 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. The sophomore sensation shot 10 of 14 from the field as Marshall took home gold for the second consecutive season.

Maty Wilke, Beaver Dam girls basketball: Beaver Dam looked to join some elite company in winning its third straight state championship this past week. The D2 juggernaut was helped to that achievement by the phenomenal sophomore Wilke. Maty had 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists as Beaver Dam downed Hortonville 68-48 in the semi-finals. In an all Badger Conference final against Monroe, Maty added 10 points to lead the Beavers to a 65-46 win.

Emma Nagel, Bay Port girls basketball: Division 1 seemed to provide the most fireworks this past weekend up at the Resch Center and Emma ended the tournament with a bang. Before the championship thought, Bay Port faced off with Kimberly in the semi-finals. Emma had 23 points and 16 rebounds as Bay Port advanced to the finals with a 63-53 win over Kimberly. Middleton awaited Bay Port in the finals and the last game of the tournament turned out to be the closest. With just over 37 seconds left, Middleton took the lead on a 3-pointer by Josie Lemirande. Bay Port took back the ball and with just over 2 seconds left, Emma hit a game-winning layup as Bay Port won 50-49. Emma had 11 points and 13 rebounds in the game to help lead Bay Port to its first gold ball in school history.
