Tim Salmon of New Richmond has been selected as the Week 5 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped take down defending Middle Border Conference champion Saint Croix Central. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 5. A total of 9,057 votes were cast, as Salmon's 3,037 were enough to edge second place Connor Leffler of Germantown, who tallied 2,700 votes.

New Richmond took down defending conference champion Saint Croix Central 42-14 on Friday, a team that has been in the Division 4 state title game the last three seasons. It was an explosive offensive performance for the Tigers, who put up more than 200 yards through the air and on the ground. Quarterback Tim Salmon completed 17-of-23 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns in the game, adding 21 yards and a score on the ground in the victory.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 6 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
