WisSports.net Week 7 Player of the Week Nominees

Mike Dupree, Milwaukee King

The Milwaukee City-Richardson title was on the line last Thursday as the league's top two programs for more than a decade met up for a hotly contested showdown between unbeaten squads. Milwaukee King entered a bit short-handed, missing a couple players, including starting quarterback Derek Sowinski. Senior running back Mike Dupree became the man to step up for his team, sliding over to quarterback against Milwaukee Riverside. It was a bit of a shaky start, as he did throw an interception and lost a fumble in the game, but Dupree rebounded strong helped King to a 28-21 victory. He finished with 140 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, completing four-of-seven passes for 76 yards and two touchdowns while playing out of position.

Adam Moen, Lake Mills

Lake Mills junior quarterback Adam Moen has put up big numbers all year for the L-Cats, who find themselves in sole possession of first place in the Capitol-North heading into the final two weeks. His ability as a dual-threat option in the backfield has lifted Lake Mills to a top ten ranking in the Division 4 Coaches Poll, and a 49-14 win over Lakeside Lutheran on Friday. After putting up more than 600 yards of total offense in Week 6 against Columbus, Moen completed 32-of-42 passes for 368 yards and four touchdowns against Lakeside. He added 81 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries as the L-Cats move to 6-1 on the season.

Ross Roemhild, Baldwin-Woodville

Baldwin-Woodville and Ellsworth entered their Week 7 match-up as two of the four teams tied for the lead in the Middle Border Conference standings, but it was Baldwin-Woodville who left with a share of the top spot after a resounding 44-26 win. Senior quarterback Ross Reomhild completed 12-of-17 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, adding 13 carries for 107 yards and a score on the ground. He also played a part on defense, recording three tackles and an interception.

Logan Stuart, Suring

Three teams entered Week 7 tied atop the MONLPC-8, but there was guaranteed to be less than that when the week ended, as Suring and Florence squared off with a share of first on the line. Up 28-12 at halftime, Suring would hang on for a 42-26 victory to remain tied with Gibraltar atop the league standings. Logan Stuart was a monster once again, carrying the ball 45 times for 378 yards and five touchdowns. He also led the team with 14 tackles and forced a fumble. He currently leads all of 8-Player Football in rushing yards (1,823) and tackles (108) on the season.

Cole Wisniewski, Sparta

Sparta stayed within striking distance of the Mississippi Valley Conference leaders with a 38-33 victory over La Crosse Central on Friday. Sparta quarterback Cole Wisniewski continued to show why he's one of the state's elite athletes, carrying the ball 24 times for 250 yards and three touchdowns, as the Spartans rolled up more than 400 yards on the ground. Wisniewski also hit on some big plays in the passing game, throwing for 107 yards. He wasn't done there, however, leading the team with 11 tackles plus two sacks, a forced fumble, and fumble recovery.
