As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Stratford (7-0, 4-0; D5 #1) at Edgar (7-0, 3-0; D7 #3) - Friday, 7 pm

Arguably the state's best small school rivalry and one of the best regardless of school size, these teams have combined for 20 state finals appearances and 14 championships (seven apiece). One of these teams has won at least a share of the Marawood Conference title every year except one since 1984. That run will come to an end after this year, however, as Stratford will be moved to the CWC next season. While we could still see non-conference games between Stratford and Edgar, things will be different very soon. However, there remains business to take care of first, as these have been two of the most dominant programs in the state this season. Stratford has yet to be scored on, averaging better than 59 points per game as well. Edgar has allowed just 20 points all year while averaging 41 points per game. Edgar won the head-to-head matchup last year, topping Stratford 26-20 in the final regular season game thanks to a game-winning touchdown in the final seconds.
