Governor Tony Evers announced his safer-at home order early Monday via his Twitter account, which will mean the closing of many businesses across the state that don't provide essential services.

With many more Wisconsinites about to find themselves spending their times at home, entertainment may be hard to come by. For those lovers of all things sports, sport movies can be a great substitute for the lack of live action we are accustomed to at this time of the year.

This week we'll be releasing a series of articles with top rated sports category movies according to other media sites.

Check out the previous week's lists:

Top Basketball Movies
Top Baseball Movies
Top Football Movies

Best Sports Comedies

We could all use a laugh right now as we sit at home and miss the glory that is live sports. This list provides a great reprieve from the sadness that is no sports.

Many of the best comedies have been listed in the baseball, basketball, and football editions this week. For that reason, we will exclude comedies from baseball, basketball and football, in order to avoid repetition. We'll focus on those from other sports that deserve a watch just as well.

Caddyshack (1980)

Some of the savants of comedy star in this film set around a golf course where hijinks runs high. Rodney Dangerfield, Chevy Chase, and Bill Murray play second fiddle to a dancing, pesky gopher.

Kingpin (1996)

Former bowling phenom Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson) falls to Ernie McCracken (Bill Murray) in a con and destroys his bowling career. Years later he takes a Amish bowler (Randy Quaid) under his wing; the top of the bowling world in sight.

Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004)

Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn) puts together a dodgeball team full of wildcards in order to save Average Joe's Gym from being bought by the the tyrannical Globo-Gym and their mustache-touting leader White Goodman (Ben Stiller).

Slap Shot (1977)

The Charlestown Chiefs are in their last season of existence and implement a different sort of tactic to win. Hilarity ensues as the team relies on a more thuggish style of play to draw in crowds.

Talladega Nights (2006)

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly team up as Ricky Bobby and Cal Naughton Jr. in a high speed comedy. The racing duo goes through ups and downs as Frenchman Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen) explodes into the league looking to take the title from Ricky Bobby. If you ain't first, you're last.

Goon (2011)

Bouncer Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott) finds himself a spot on a minor-league hockey team due to his knockout punch ability. All he has to do now is figure out how to skate.

Happy Gilmore (1996)

Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) is an aspiring hockey player with some driving power. His rise in the professional golf game is highlighted by his unconventional power drives, on-the-course fits, and lack of short game. Watch how Happy de-classes the game of golf on his way to the top.

Blades of Glory (2007)

Child prodigy Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) and ice skating's bad boy Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell) get banned from the sport after their medal ceremony brawl. See how they come together as a pair and struggle to win gold again.

Cool Runnings (1993)

Salty former champion Irv (John Candy) helps coach a group of Jamaican bobsleighers to their dream of competing in the Winter Olympics. First, they need to see snow. Then they need to learn to bobsled.

Who's on First

This may be a cheat as it's not 'technically' a movie, but it's hard to leave off one of the best comedies of all-time. The Abbot and Costello show skit will have you laughing from start to finish as the two play so well off each other.

Others to Watch

These movies are equally hilarious but have been highlight in past editions this week: The Waterboy, White Men Can't Jump, Major League, A League of Their Own.

These are a few others to watch:

  • Semi-Pro
  • BASEketball
  • Celtic Pride
  • College
  • Tin Cup

Vote below for your favorite sports comedy (excluding baseball, basketball, and football) of all time. If you don't see your choice, leave a comment or join the discussion on Twitter and Facebook. Voting will go until 5 pm tomorrow.
