WisSports.net Week 7 Player of the Week Nominees

Gannon Demler, Kaukauna

Kaukauna's jaunt around the state continued, as this time the Galloping Ghosts journeyed to the northern Milwaukee suburbs to take on Germantown. The showdown between ranked teams was a thriller. Kaukauna led 10-7 at halftime, but both teams put up multiple scores in the third quarter, though Germantown led 28-20 into the fourth. With under four minutes remaining, Gannon Demler found Logan Fitzhugh for a 27-yard touchdown pass and then connected with Cody Gaber for the game-tying two-point conversion. The game would go into overtime, where Kaukauna won on a Hank Hofmann touchdown run and stopped Germantown's subsequent attempt for a 35-28 win. Demler finished with a state-high 313 passing yards, completing 20-of-32 attempts with three scores.

Cam Devine, Brookfield Central

Brookfield Central has had its share of struggles this season, dropping some close games against a very challenging schedule. The Lancers took out some frustrations in the final game of the regular season, hammering Marquette 47-14. Cam Devine ran for three first-half touchdowns as Central built a 23-7 halftime lead and continued to pull away in the second half. Devine would finish with 22 carries for 205 yards and four touchdowns, averaging better than nine yards per carry for head coach Joel Nellis.

Robby Michael, Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian

Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian quarterback Robby Michael has put up incredible numbers this season, and while he's had bigger passing days, his overall impact on last Friday's game was as significant as ever. Locked in a fierce back-and-forth battle with unbeaten Two Rivers, the tri-op program turned to Michael to made a difference both passing and rushing. He'd finished with 245 yards and four touchdowns on 14-of-25 passing, but he also had his biggest rushing performance of the season with 21 carries for 144 yards and two scores as KLC scored a 50-41 victory. Michael easily leads the state with 2,163 passing yards and 30 touchdowns in just six games.

Parker Prahl, Iola-Scandinavia

Iola-Scandinavia junior Parker Prahl didn't start playing football until last year, but he has caught on quickly, and is making a huge difference as the T-Birds have rallied from last year's struggles to finish unbeaten in the regular season. They capped it off with a dominating 50-12 win over Assumption, as Prahl was unstoppable. He carried the ball 12 times for 240 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 20 yards per attempt. That included a 43-yard and 38-yard touchdown run in the first quarter as Iola-Scandinavia built a 28-0 edge after the first period and led 44-0 at halftime. Prahl also completed six-of-seven passes for 118 yards while playing at cornerback as well.

Liam Stumpf, Mineral Point

A number of players have had outstanding dual-threat performances this year, but few can match what Mineral Point quarterback Liam Stumpf did in a 42-20 win over Lancaster on Friday. He completed eight-of-14 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns and ran 11 times for 231 yards and three more scores, accounting for 515 yards of total offense. Both is rushing and passing total were the fourth-best performance in the state in that category for Week 7.
