Week 1 WisSports.net Girls Basketball Coaches Poll

WISSPORTS.NET Girls BASKETBALL COACHES POLL

Division 1

Germantown is the top-ranked team in the first WSN Coaches Poll of the season. The Warhawks are 6-0 and picked up wins over Brookfield Central, DSHA and Pewaukee last week. Kimberly (5-0) is No. 2 and followed by Appleton East, DSHA and Kettle Moraine in the top five. 

Division 2

Beaver Dam, winners of the past three Division 2 state titles, is the top-ranked team in the first coaches poll of the year. The Golden Beavers are 5-0 and averaging 95 points per game, with a pair of games with at least 100 points. Notre Dame (3-1) is No. 2 and earned a big win over Appleton East last season. Hortonville, West De Pere and New Berlin Eisenhower round out the top five. 

Division 3

Freedom (3-1) grabs the top spot despite falling to D2 No. 3 Hortonville, 65-64, on Friday. Waupun (3-0) is No. 2 in the first WSN Coaches Poll of the season. The Warriors' last win was a 53-39 win over No. 10 Laconia. Joining Freedom and Waupun in the top five are Prairie du Chien, St. Croix Falls and Lake Mills. 

Division 4

Marshall drops down to Division 4 this season and grabs the No. 1 ranking in the first WisSports.net Coaches Poll. Aquinas, winners of the past two Division 4 state titles, is right behind at No. 2. Mishicot, Howards Grove and Winnebago Lutheran are also in the top five of the first coaches poll. 

Division 5

Black Hawk, winner of the last Division 5 state title, are the top-ranked team in Division 5. The Warriors have the state's longest active winning streak at 57 games, which is the 8th longest in state history. The rest of the top five features Bangor, Prairie Farm, McDonell Central and Blair-Taylor.
