Beaver Dam senior Maty Wilke suffered a torn ACL in her right knee during Monday's 82-33 win over Edgewood, ending her high school career.

Wilke, a Wisconsin signee and Miss Basketball favorite, injured her knee early in the first half of the contest when she scored on a putback. The basket gave the Golden Beavers a 15-4 lead with with 14 minutes left in the first half.

Wilke, a 5-foot-10 guard and top-ranked player in the Class of 2021 by WSN, finishes the year averaging 21.8 points per game in eight games played for the 8-0 Golden Beavers, ranked No. 1 in the Division 2 WisSports.net Coaches Poll.

Beaver Dam is averaging 87.1 points per game and Wilke was a big part of that high scoring attack. She scored at least 25 points in four games and was also dishing out assists at a high rate, to go along with her strong defense and rebounding.

In a 106-37 win over Baraboo, Wilke recorded her first career triple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists.

She finishes her career at or near the top of many statistical categories at Beaver Dam: 1,299 points (1st), 518 rebounds (2nd), 378 assists (4th) and 251 steals (2nd), according to Beaver Dam head coach Tim Chase.

Wilke led Beaver Dam to a 86-6 record in her career, including going 14-0 in the WIAA tournament with three state appearances and two Division 2 state titles. The Golden Beavers' only in-state loss during Wilke's career was against Aquinas last season.

Golden Beavers were looking to become the first team in girls basketball state history to win four consecutive titles, but COVID-19 forced cancelation of the tournament after day one.

The next time you see Wilke play she will be wearing a Wisconsin Badgers uniform playing for coach Jonathan Tsipis. Wisconsin was one of the first schools to offer her a scholarship and their coaching staff was seen at many Beaver Dam games. She will join former teammate Tara Stauffacher on the roster next year.
