Tyr Severson has been selected as the Week 3 Spring Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Blue Devils score an overtime victory. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 3. A total of 3,886 votes were cast, as Severson's 1,124 were enough to soundly edge out second place Aiden Wolfram of Notre Dame, who tallied 1,092 votes.

Evansville scored an exciting 30-24 overtime victory against McFarland on Friday, as senior quarterback Tyr Severson accounted for all of the Blue Devils' points. That included the game-winning one-yard touchdown run on fourth and goal in the overtime period. Severson completed 14-of-27 passes in the game for 270 yards and two touchdowns as well, running the ball seven times for 27 yards and two touchdowns. He added two, two-point conversion passes plus a two-point conversion run for the victorious Blue Devils.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 4 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
