Week 7 WSN Football Player of the Week Nominees

WisSports.net Week 7 Player of the Week Nominees

Reed Breckheimer, Hilbert

Hilbert was locked in a back-and-forth thriller with Cedar Grove-Belgium on Friday night, ultimately pulling out a 42-41 victory to move to 6-1 overall and a tie for second place in the Big East Conference. Wolves senior Reed Breckheimer toted the rock 23 times for 226 yards with a pair of touchdowns, booted through six extra points, and recorded a team-high 16 tackles on defense.

Gabe Klatt, Beaver Dam

Beaver Dam sophomore running back Gabe Klatt set a new school record with 398 rushing yards on 35 carries with six touchdowns as the Golden Beavers downed Janesville Craig 38-27. Klatt's big day broke the previous mark held by R.J. Shelton, who would go on to play at Michigan State. 

Eli Laube, Fall Creek

Fall Creek took a big step towards playoff qualification with a 26-12 victory over Elk Mound that moves the Crickets to 3-2 in the Cloverbelt Conference and a tie for third place in the league. Junior quarterback Eli Laube had some huge plays in the passing game, completing 14-of-29 throws for 252 yards and four touchdowns.

Drew Mears, Fox Valley Lutheran

It was a thriller between Fox Valley Lutheran and Little Chute Friday, with the game in the balance the entire way. In the end, a two-point conversion from Drew Mears to Zach Johnson in the fourth quarter lifted Fox Valley Lutheran to a 22-21 win. Mears completed 26-of-45 passes in the game for 272 yards with three touchdowns, adding a team-high 52 rushing yards as well.

Joe Ollman, Homestead

Homestead forced a three-way tie atop the North Shore Conference standings by handing Hartford its first league loss in a 28-24 decision. Senior Joe Ollman had a big game for the Highlanders, rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries to go with a 25-yard touchdown reception as he had a hand in three of the four Homestead scores.
