Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Shooter Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The finalists for the top senior shooter have been selected. The winner will be announced the week after the state tournament. 

Abbie Aalsma, 5-9, Waupun -- Aalsma has led the Warriors to their first state tournament appearance since 1996. The NCAA Division I Illinois State University signee is averaging 21.6 points per game and is shooting 101-for-213 from three-point land. The 101 three-pointers made are the fifth-most in the state. She also averages 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.1 steals per game for coach and father Tim Aalmsa and the 25-3 Warriors. Abbie netted a career-high 33 points in a 50-47 win over Kewaskum in a D3 sectional semifinal. Aalsma, a D3 WBCA all-state selection last season, has 2,024 points and 344 made three-pointers entering Waupun's Division 3 state semifinal against Dominican. 

Lily Hansford, 6-2, Appleton East -- Hansford has helped the Patriots advance to the state tournament for the first time since 1998. The NCAA Division I Oregon State University signee is averaging 13 points per game while connecting on 79 of 199 from 3-point land. She is in the top 10 for three-pointers made this season. Hansford also tallies 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.5 blocks per contest for coach Joe LaChapell and the Patriots, 24-4 entering their D1 state semifinal against Brookfield East. She scored a career-best 27 points and went 7-for-9 from three-point land in a win over Oshkosh West in January. Hansford has over 1,200 points in her career with 296 three-pointers made. 

Kate Huml, 5-8, Janesville Craig -- Huml helped lead the Cougars (19-8) to a Division 1 sectional semifinal before falling to state qualifier Kettle Moraine. The NCAA Division III UW-Oshkosh commit averaged 18.5 points per game and shot 54-for-106 from behind the arc for coach Kerry Storbakken and the Cougars. Huml also contributed 3.1 assists and 2.0 steals per contest. She finished her career with 1,091 career points and netted a school-record 36 points in a loss to Sun Prairie in February. Huml will be competing in the WIAA 3-Point Challenge at the Resch Center in Green Bay on Saturday. She finished first on the Division 1 Final Leaderboard for 3-point shooting percentage. 

Lily Krahn, 5-10, Prairie du Chien -- Krahn led the Blackhawks to a Division 3 regional final and 24-2 record. The NCAA Division I Wisconsin signee averaged 20.6 points per game and shot 84-for-166 from behind the arc. Her 84 made triples are among the most in the state. Krahn also tallied 4.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 3.2 steals per game for coach Paula Shedivy and the Blackhawks. She scored a season-high 31 points in wins over Black Hawk and Platteville. Krahn, a WBCA all-state choice the last two years, compiled over 1,600 points in her career and made 244 three-pointers. She will be competing in the WIAA 3-Point Challenge on Saturday. 

Mallory Lindsey, 5-4, Mineral Point -- Lindsey has led the Pointers to an undefeated season (28-0) entering the Division 4 state tournament which is their second consecutive trip. The NCAA Division III UW-Oshkosh commit is averaging 15.8 points per game and is shooting 105-for-238 from 3-point land. The 105 three-pointers made are tied for second-most in the state. Lindsey also contributed 3.2 assists and 2.7 steals per contest for coach Michael Keyes and the Pointers. Mallory scored a career-best 30 points (7-11 from 3) in a victory over Southwestern in February. She has 1,097 points entering the Pointers' Division 4 state semifinal versus Westfield. Mineral Point was the D4 state runner-up last season. 

Jordan Meulemans, 6-0, De Pere -- Meulemans has led the Redbirds to their first state tournament appearance since 2017. The NCAA Division I Butler University signee is fourth in the state in scoring with 25.2 points per game and is in the top 10 in the state with 84 three-pointers made; she shoots over 44 percent from deep. Meulemans also tallies 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for coach Jeremy Boileau and the 24-4 Redbirds. Jordan netted a school-record 37 points in a victory over Green Bay Preble in February. She has scored 1,855 points in her career and has over 175 three-pointers made in the past two seasons. De Pere plays Kettle Moraine in a Division 1 state semifinal. 

Jacy Weisbrod, 6-0, Aquinas -- Weisbrod helped lead the Blugolds to a 21-5 record and a Division 4 sectional appearance, falling to undefeated Mineral Point, 63-55. The NCAA Division I Northern Colorado signee averaged 21.2 points per game and has the most three-pointers made this season with 106 while shooting over 48 percent. Jacy also contributed 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per contest for coach Dave Donarski and the Blugolds. Weisbrod tied a career-high with 36 points (8-14 from 3)in a victory over La Crosse Central in December. She finished her career with 1,491 career points and 314 three-pointers made. Weisbord, a D4 WBCA all-state selection last season, will be competing in the WIAA 3-Point Challenge on Saturday.
