Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Defense Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The finalists for the top senior defensive player have been selected. The winner will be announced the week after the state tournament. 

Bridee Burks, 5-10, guard, Lancaster -- Burks led the Flying Arrows to a Division 4 regional final before dropping a 57-46 contest against undefeated Mineral Point. The NCAA Division I Idaho State signee tallied 2.6 steals per game to go along with leading the team in scoring (13.2) and rebounds (7.6) per contest for coach Mark Uppena and the 18-8 Flying Arrows.  

Lexi Freiboth, 5-6, guard, Mosinee -- Freiboth helped lead Mosinee (25-2) to a Division 2 sectional semifinal before falling to Great Northern foe Lakeland, 58-56. She led the team with 4.5 steals per game. Freiboth also tallied 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and a team-best 6.5 assists per contest for coach Scott McKellips and the Indians. 

Lyric Johnson, 5-9, wing, Hortonville -- Johnson helped lead the Polar Bears to a 24-2 record and a Division 1 sectional semifinal before losing to Neenah (65-60). The Division I Eastern Illinois signee led the team with 3.5 steals per game. Johnson also averaged 12.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game for coach Celeste Ratka and the Polar Bears. Hortonville spent the majority of the season ranked No. 1 in the Division 1 WSN Coaches Poll. 

Brooke Lechleitner, 6-0, forward, Lake Holcombe -- Lechleitner led the Chieftains to a 16-6 record. The NCAA Division I Central Connecticut signee averaged 5.5 steals and 4.0 blocks per contest. Lechneitner also led the team with 17.6 points and 13.2 rebounds per game and chipped in 4.2 assists per contest for coach and mother Jennifer Lechleitner and the Chieftains. Brooke scored over 1,000 points in her career. 

Jordana Reisma, 6-3, forward, Brown Deer -- Reisma helped lead the Falcons to a 14-12 record. The NCAA Division I Cleveland State signee posted 3.4 blocks and 1.5 steals per game. Reisma also averaged 17.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for coach Donald Nelson and the Falcons. Jordana finished her career with 1,210 points, 802 rebounds, and 374 blocks.
