Arrowhead's Alaina Harper has been selected as the state's top senior post player as part of the WSN Basketball Awards

Harper is a dominant inside presence on both ends of the floor. The 6-3 forward has a soft touch around the hoop, can step out and hit a jumper, and is a good passer from the post spot. On defense, her ability to block and alter shots caused problems for her opponents throughout her career.

The NCAA Divison I Grand Canyon State University signee was named Division 1 WBCA all-state after leading Arrowhead to a sectional final appearance and a 22-5 overall record.

Harper averaged 17.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game for coach Rick Witte and the Warhawks.

She scored at least 20 points in nine games this season, including tying a career-high with 28 points in Arrowhead's win over West Allis Hale in a WIAA regional semifinal on February 25.

Harper was named first-team all-Classic Eight as a junior and senior, and earned honorable mention WBCA all-state as a junior.

She finished her career with 940 points and 815 rebounds.

The finalists for the award were Harper, Sarah Hardwick of Notre Dame, Emma Mommsen of Menomonie, Mya Moore of Pius XI Catholic, and Grace Schmidt of Watertown Luther Prep.

Past winners of the award include Chloe Van Zeeland of Kaukauna (2021), Macy McGlone of Hortonville (2020), Sydnee Roby of Milwaukee King (2019), Caitlyn Harper of Arrowhead (2018), Sidney Cooks of Kenosha St. Joseph (2017), Grace Mueller of Verona (2016), Megan Gustafson of South Shore (2015), Jessica Lindstrom of Superior (2014), Breanna Lewis of Milwaukee Riverside (2013), and Heather Bowe of Regis (2012).
