Wisconsin Lutheran freshman Sydney Vitangcol has been selected as the Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week for the week of April r-10 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 3,494 total votes this week. Vitangcol topped all vote getters with 1,341 votes. Deerfield's Cal Fisher came in second with 1,107 votes.

Vitangcol played her first varsity game this past week and had quite the debut. The freshman pitched a seven-inning complete game in a 7-2 win over New Berlin Eisenhower. Vitangcol struck out 16 batters while allowing four hits and two unearned runs. She went one for two from the plate with two walks and two runs scores. Vitangcol then went two for four with three RBIs and one run scored in a 10-0 win over West Allis Central.

Sydney took the mound for her second varsity game this Monday and somehow improved upon her first. In a seven-inning complete game shutout, Vitangcol allowed three hits and two walks. She struck out 21 more batters as the Vikings won 9-0. She added two hits and two RBIs from the plate.
