Week 4 Jolly Good Football Player of the Week: Matthew Pittz, Dodgeville

Matthew Pittz of Dodgeville has been selected as the Week 4 Jolly Good Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on His big day helped the Dodgers score comeback league victory over River Valley. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 4. A total of 5,010 votes were cast, as Pittz's 1,747 were enough to edge out second place Drew Chorlton of Verona, who tallied 1,295 votes.

Dodgeville ended a 15-game conference losing streak with a comeback 20-14 victory against River Valley on Friday. The Dodgers trailed 14-7 heading into the fourth quarter before scoring to tie it up. Just a couple minutes later with River Valley on the doorstep of taking the lead, Matthew Pittz returned an interception 95 yards for what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown. He also caught four passes for 22 yards in the game and recorded six tackles with a total of two interceptions.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Jolly Good Football Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 5 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
