Janesville Craig junior Mya Nicholson has been selected as the Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week for the week of September 19-25 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.

There were 4,835 total votes this week. Nicholson topped all vote getters with 1,963 votes. Little Chute's Charlie Vanden Burgt came in an extremely close second with 1,923 votes.

Nicholson burst onto the scene as a sophomore last year and won Big Eight Conference Championship, the first in Janesville Craig girls golf history. This year, the junior looked to repeat and did just that. Nicholson shot a three over par at the Evansville Golf Course to take medalist honors. Her 75 overall was five strokes better than the second place finisher.

Nicholson finished second at the Elkhorn regional this week, shooting a 75 overall. She helped Craig to a first place team finish in the regional however. Nicholson finished two strokes behind Milton's Hannah Dunk.
