The Racine Park Panthers have been selected as the Week 8 WSN Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team took down Oak Creek to set them up for a chance to make the playoffs for the first time since 2009. The Panthers were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 8. A total of 16,089 votes were cast, as Racine Park's 6,520 votes edged Kettle Moraine's 6,489 votes.

Racine Park shocked the Southeast Conference and league-leading Oak Creek with a 24-21 victory over the Knights on Friday night, as the Panthers have a good chance to make the playoffs for the first time since 2009. Trevion Carothers scored the game-winning touchdown on a 39-yard touchdown scamper with 43 seconds remaining, as he finished with 90 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Daeyzjuan Williams did considerable damage, rushing for 213 yards and two scores on 24 carries.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 9 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
