WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week
(Week of October 10-16)

FOOTBALL

Offense

Will Lawrence, Sophomore (Benton, Wis./Benton), Running Back of UW-Platteville 

Lawrence had 110 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in the Pioneers 21-14 victory over No. 14-ranked UW-River Falls on Oct. 15. His first score was a seven-yard rush to give the Pioneers a seven- point lead. His second touchdown was a nine-yard reception to give the Pioneers a 14-point advantage. Lawrence had 30 rushes for 88 yards, with a long of 11. He added three receptions for 22 yards.

Defense 

Sean McMillan, Senior (Beloit, Wis./Turner), Defensive Back of UW-Platteville 

In a 21-14 victory over No. 14-ranked UW-River Falls on Oct. 15, McMillan had eight tackles, one sack, and an interception. The interception was returned to the seven-yard line and set up the Pioneers second score of the game. McMillan also had a quarterback hurry on a late fourth quarter stand that resulted in a turnover on downs. The Pioneer defense held the Falcons to a season low in plays, yards and points.

Special Teams 

Luke Cool, Sophomore (Franklin, Wis./Franklin), Kicker of UW-Stout 

Cool was perfect in the Blue Devils 55-0 win over UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 15. He was 7-of-7 on extra-point conversions and made field goals of 19 and 26 yards. Cool had nine kickoffs averaging 59.2 yards per kickoff.
