The WFCA Coach of the Year honor, which is presented in conjunction with the Green Bay Packers, will be announced after the playoffs. The Assistant Coach of the Year will be announced next week as well.

Previously announced WFCA All-Region Teams can be found here.

Sun Prairie East senior quarterback Jerry Kaminski was chosen as the WFCA Large School Offensive Player of the Year. Kaminski saw limited action on varsity as a freshman but gained valuable experience splitting time in the 2021 spring season. He took over as the starter in the fall of 2021, guiding Sun Prairie to the Division 1 state title game as an All-State selection. he has been even better as a senior at Sun Prairie East, completing 179-of-289 passes (61.9%) for 2,785 yards and 40 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. His passer rating of 123.3 is among the best in the state for his coach and father Brian Kaminski. The North Dakota commit has thrown for 6,112 yards and 77 touchdowns in his career.

Josiah Azure, a senior outside linebacker from Bay Port, was named the Large School Defensive Player of the Year after a First Team All-State junior campaign. He's a dominating two-year starter for Bay Port who has put up outstanding numbers once again as a senior. Through ten games, he had 106 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and two forced fumbles for the Pirates. The North Dakota State commit missed much of the playoff run but was recently named the Defensive Player of the Year in the FRCC-North.

Mayville senior running back Blake Schraufnagel received Small School Offensive Player of the Year recognition. Schraufnagel had a huge junior season as the Cardinals advanced to the state finals, going for more than 2400 yards. He's followed it up with an even bigger senior campaign thus far as the team is unbeaten heading into a state title rematch with Aquinas. He's carried the ball 210 times for 2,478 yards and 39 touchdowns, averaging 11.8 yards per carry. He's also caught 18 passes for 360 yards and two touchdowns, has a punt return score, and plays a key role on defense. In his career he has 5,602 yards and 87 touchdowns on the ground for the Cardinals.

Small School Defensive Player of the Year honors went to Turner defensive end Brent Hoppe. He was among state leaders with 42 tackles for loss and 14 sacks as a junior, and has followed that up with another outstanding season in 2022. The Central Michigan recruit has 95 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, two sacks, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, and an interception this year.

Nolan Schopp of Kettle Moraine (fullback/tight end and outside linebacker), Collin Selk of Columbus (offensive lineman and defensive lineman), and Davion Thomas Kumpula of Racine St. Catherine's (receiver and defensive back) were the only two-way All-State selections.
