WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week
(Week of January 2-8)

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Logan Pearson, Junior (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly), Forward of UW-Platteville 

Pearson averaged 22.0 points per game as the Pioneers picked up a pair of conference wins during the week. He scored 20 points on 8 of 15 shooting in a 64-41 win at No. 10-ranked UW-La Crosse on Jan. 4, before scoring 24 in a 74-58 triumph over UW-Stout on Jan. 7. Pearson shot 50.0 percent (6 of 12) from three-point range on the week and 83.3 percent (10 of 12) from the free throw line. He added 4.0 rebounds per game, along with 3.0 assists per contest.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL 

Aleah Grundahl, Senior (DeForest, Wis./DeForest), Forward of UW-Whitewater 

Grundahl shot nearly 50 percent from the floor, averaging 19.0 points per game to lead the Warhawks to a 2-0 week. In UW-Whitewater’s 55-52 win over UW-Stevens Point on Jan. 4, Grundahl scored 11 points bolstered by a perfect 5 of 5 performance from the free throw line, adding five boards and a pair of steals. In the team’s 79-69 victory at No. 9-ranked UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 7, Grundahl tallied a season-high 27 points on 12 of 20 from the floor. She played more than 39 minutes in the contest adding seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. For the week, Grundahl averaged 19 points in over 26 minutes of action, shooting 48.4 percent from the floor and 87.5 percent from the free throw line.
