New Berlin West's Meghan Schultz has been selected as the state's top senior post player as part of the WSN Basketball Awards

Schultz is a strong interior presence on both ends of the floor. Schultz can score with her back to the basket with several post moves while also being able to step out and knock down the mid-range shot. She is disruptive on defense with her ability to block and alter shots.

One of six finalists for Ms. Basketball, Schultz was named WBCA All-State as a junior and senior and received honorable mention laurels as a sophomore.

Schultz, a 6-3 forward/center, averaged 22.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.3 blocks per contest for coach Collin Thompson and the 17-8 Vikings.

Meghan recorded 17 double-doubles as a senior and dropped a career-best 35 points in a win against West Bend East on December 27, 2022.

She was named first-team all-Woodland West in her final three seasons and was voted as the league's player of the year as a senior.

Schultz, who is signed to play for head coach Kevin Borseth and the UW-Green Bay Phoenix, compiled 1,666 points and 861 rebounds in her career.

The finalists for the award were Schultz, Jorey Buwalda of Randolph, Paulina Hernandez of Oak Creek, Ayianna Johnson of Jefferson, Maggie Hartwig of Sauk Prairie, and Bella Pitta of Lake Mills.

Past winners of the award include Alaina Harper of Arrowhead (2022), Chloe Van Zeeland of Kaukauna (2021), Macy McGlone of Hortonville (2020), Sydnee Roby of Milwaukee King (2019), Caitlyn Harper of Arrowhead (2018), Sidney Cooks of Kenosha St. Joseph (2017), Grace Mueller of Verona (2016), Megan Gustafson of South Shore (2015), Jessica Lindstrom of Superior (2014), Breanna Lewis of Milwaukee Riverside (2013), and Heather Bowe of Regis (2012).
