Rice Lake senior Lexi Berger has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of May 29 - June 4 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
There were 2,038 total votes this week. Berger topped all vote getters with 915 votes. Pacelli's Peyton Mancl came in second with 545 votes.
Berger was the catalyst offensively for the Rice Lake girls soccer team as the squad won a pair of regional matches to advance to sectional play. The Warriors began the week with a 10-0 win over Hayward as Berger didn't net her own goal, but assisted on three. The senior midfielder then found the net herself in the 7-0 regional final win over Amery. Berger scored four goals in the shutout victory.
Berger and Rice Lake will take on Barron/Cumberland in a sectional semifinal tonight.
