Brodhead senior Mckenna Young has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of June 5-11 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 3,190 total votes this week. Young topped all vote getters with 1,474 votes. Freedom's Peyton VandeLoo came in second with 644 votes.

Young capped off her prep career on the diamond in style, leading Brodhead to a Division 3 state championship. In a 5-0 win over Somerset in the semifinals, the South Dakota commit pitched five innings and didn't allow a hit, earning the win on the mound. She struck out eleven batters over her five innings of work. Young then pitched a complete game shutout in an eight-inning, 1-0 win over Mayville in the Division 3 championship game. She struck out 16 batters and allowed just two hits over the extra-inning game.
