The WSN Cup has crowned three winners for the 2022-23 season. This is the fifteenth year the WSN Cup has been awarded for athletic achievement to teams around the state.

Arrowhead won its second straight title in the large school division, making it thirteen titles in the fifteen years, dominating the WSN Cup large school division. Notre Dame has won its first WSN Cup since the 2012-13 season, winning the medium school division. The Tritons have won four overall in that division. Xavier won the small school division after its enrollment dropped under 500 for the first time since 2008-09. The Hawks had been in the medium school division since that year, but dropped down a level and have now won their first WSN Cup.

Arrowhead excelling in multiple sports over the three season led the Warhawks to the thirteenth WSN Cup Large School Division title in fifteen years.

The Warhawks scored an incredible 980 points, which is the second most points scored in WSN Cup history to the 1015.33 points Arrowhead scored during the 2016-17 season.

Arrowhead scored 428 points during the fall season, putting the Warhawks 48 points behind Middleton. A girls tennis and swim and dive championship highlighted the fall season, along with a second place finish in boys volleyball.

The Warhawks then scored 287 points during the winter season, the most of any school, to take over the top spot in the large school divisions. Runner-up finishes in boys basketball and swim and dive were the major point getters.

Arrowhead finished the spring season with 265 points, which again led all schools in the state. A first place finish in boys track, third place in girls track and a state appearance in softball accounted for a majority of the points.

Arrowhead's student athletes and coaches work hard to achieve their best in every sport; WIAA and non-WIAA. Middleton finished second in the large school divisions with 845.57 points. Muskego (597.6 points) , Kaukauna (508.68 points) and Kettle Moraine (462 points) rounded out the top five in the standings.

Notre Dame three state championships this year as the Tritons captured the WSN Cup Medium School Division title for the first time in ten years.

The Tritons ended the fall season with 351 points, the most of any medium school division. A state title in boys cross country, runner-up in boys soccer and a third place finish girls cross country highlighted the fall season.

Notre Dame then won two state titles in girls basketball and boys hockey, accounting for a majority of its 239.1 points during the winter season. The Tritons again were atop the standings for the winter.

Despite a down season during the spring in regards to point, Notre Dame had built a big enough cushion to hold onto the title. The Tritons finished the spring season eighth in the standings with 167 points, highlighted by a six place finish in boys track and a state appearance in boys team tennis.

Notre Dame Academy and our school community is very honored and proud of earning this achievement. Our Athletes and Coaches work extremely hard throughout the year to be the best they can be and they all should take pride in this accomplishment.  It starts with lifting and conditioning during the summer and the long practices, weights, and film study during their seasons. This is an overall department award and all 500 of our athletes played a part in this honor.

And in athletics we try to prepare our student-athletes for life after high school  through hard work, teamwork and commitment. Edgewood came in as the runner-up in the medium schools division, finishing with 683.57 points. Whitefish Bay (625.63 points), West Salem (497.3 points) and McFarland (481.43 points) finished three thru five in the final standings.

Xavier moved down to the small school division this season after being in the medium school division since the 2007-08 season. The Hawks took home their first WSN Cup title this year, winning the small schools division.

An extremely successful fall sports season gave Xavier all the cushion it needed to secure a title by the end of the year. The Hawks scored 412.7 total points. State championships girls volleyball and cross country were the biggest point getters. Also, a runner-up finish in girls tennis and third place finish in boys cross country helped Xavier to a huge point output.

Xavier finished thirty-second in points in the winter season, scoring just 56.18 points. 45 of those points came from a sectional final boys basketball team.

The Hawks again didn't have near as a successful season in the spring, scoring 145 points, which was good for thirteenth in the standings. The Hawks did just enough in the winter and spring seasons to hold on to the massive lead they built after the fall sports season.

We are very proud to be named the winner of the WSN Cup small schools division. Xavier has been blessed with absolutely wonderful sports seasons this past school year. These accomplishments continue to grow Xavier pride and will inspire future classes to achieve their goals. We have a tremendous coaching staff across the board that fully commits to the student-athletes and finds the best ways to continue to grow our programs while providing athletes with great experiences. Aquinas came up just short of an eighth WSN Cup, finishing with 592.5 points and a second place finish. McDonell Central (554.58 points), Lakeside Lutheran (391 points) and Regis (382.92 points) rounded out the top five in the standings.

Divisions - Starting in 2008-09 schools will be placed in three divisions. The Large School Division is for schools with enrollment over 1000. Medium Schools are classified as 500 to 1000 and Small School division is below 500. In 2007-08 schools with enrollments of 900 or more were in the large school division while schools with enrollments up to 900 were in the small schools division. 

Points - Points are awarded for finishes in the state tournament of every team sport. Generally, the top 32 teams in each sport are awarded points. If less than 32 teams participate in a non-bracket sport state meet then those are the only schools that are awarded points. For Co-op teams the total points are divided equally amongst all schools in the co-op.
