Jolly Good Week 2 Player of the Week Nominees

Karter Butt, Edgar

It was a slow start between old rivals Edgar and Stratford on Friday night, but after a scoreless first quarter, business picked up substantially in the second quarter. That's whey Edgar raced out to a 26-6 halftime lead, with Kart Butter rushing for four touchdowns in the second period. He'd go on to add another in the third, finishing with 32 carries for 144 yards and five touchdowns, adding a couple of two-point conversion runs as the Wildcats downed the Tigers 40-6. Butt also tied for the team-high in tackles with 10, also recording a sack on defense.

Finnley Doriot, Kaukauna

Kaukauna held off West De Pere 25-22 on Friday night in the third meeting between the clubs in almost exactly one year. West De Pere got the win both times last season, but senior quarterback Finnley Doriot helped Kaukauna secure the victory this time around. He completed 14-of-21 passes for 304 yards with three touchdowns, including an 82-yarder to Tucker Hofmann in the third quarter to put the Galloping Ghosts ahead.

Jayden Gordon, Kenosha St. Joseph

Kenosha St. Joseph went on the road and scored an impressive win over a very good Racine St. Catherine's team on Friday night, 34-12. Jayden Gordon couldn't be stopped for the Lancers, rushing for 344 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries, averaging 14.3 yards per attempt. He wasn't done there, however, recording a team-high 19 tackles on defense in one of the more impressive two-way performances we've seen recently.

Joseph Koch, Menomonee Falls

It was a battle of 300-yard rushers on Friday night but Menomonee Falls' Joseph Koch helped him team come out on top in a 49-38 win over New Berlin West. While West's Sean Ryan had 345 yards and six touchdowns in a losing effort, Koch came to play as well, carrying the ball 32 times for 314 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught a 72-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to help seal things up for the Phoenix.

Logan Rufledt, Tomah

Tomah finished just 2-7 last year but posted one of the more surprising results of the non-conference season in Week 2, taking down last year's Division 3 runner-up West Salem 27-13. The Timberwolves went up early, leading 14-0 at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back. Senior running back Logan Rufledt scored all four touchdowns for Tomah, finishing with 260 rushing yards on 32 carries.
