Below are the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week Nominees for this week. Voting is open until Friday at 2:00 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Athlete of the Week Nominees: August 28 - September 3

Jackson Blake, Melrose-Mindoro

Blaken made an abundance of plays on both sides of the ball this past Friday in Melrose-Mindoro's 41-14 win over Blair-Taylor. The senior running back carried the ball 20 times for 180 yards and three scores in the victory. Defensively he was all over the field, tallying seven tackles and intercepting two Blair-Taylor passes. Blaken also handled kick returning duties for the Mustangs. He had two returns for 55 yards.

Aubrey Dorn, McDonell Central

Dorn and the McDonell Central girls volleyball team competed at the Aquinas Tournament and came away with a championship. Dorn had a very good all-around day in La Crosse, recording 22 kills, 22 digs, eight aces, eight blocks and four assists over the five matches. The Macks swept Baraboo, La Crescent, Luther, Winona Cotter and Aquinas en route to team crown, not dropping a single set.

Abel Galvan, Racine St. Catherine's

The Racine St. Catherine's boys soccer team took home a trio of wins, including two at the Crusader Invite in Waukesha. Galvan carried his team in the scoring column. First in a 1-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran, the senior forward scored the lone goal. He then scored a hat trick in a 3-0 win over Carmen South on day 1 of the Crusader Invite. Galvan then netted the only goal in the 1-0 win over Catholic Memorial to help the Angels to a tournament title. Through those three games, Galvan netted all five goals for the team.

Seth Schroeder, Winnebago Lutheran

Schroeder netted six goals over two matches as Winnebago Lutheran swept the week. The senior forward began his week with two goals as Winnebago Lutheran defeated Kohler 3-0. The Vikings then beat Kewaskum 4-3 later in the week. Schroeder netted all four goals for the Vikings, willing his team to a victory. On the season Seth has ten goals and two assists through the first two weeks of the season.

Grace Taylor, Marshfield

Marshfield won a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup with Stevens Point and a home tournament this past week and Taylor played a huge part throughout.The senior had 11 digs, five kills, two aces and a block in a 3-0 sweep of Stevens Point. Taylor then had put together an all-around day at Marshfield as the Tigers went 5-0 and dropped just one set. Taylor had 27 digs, 20 kills, 13 aces and four blocks in the five wins over Ladysmith, Mondovi, Antigo, Abbotsford and Shawano.
